Mulo is an artist, designer, and illustrator based in Johor, Malaysia. With over 10 years of experience in the creative industry, Mulo has established himself as a talented artist with a unique style and approach to his work. He is known for urban wall murals, unique and bold heavily anime-influenced character designs, an accute sense of stylish pop-designs, and his vivid burst of colors in his plentiful illustration works. Japanese cyberpunk element with injection of whimsical pop culture references and occasionally also cultural infusion makes for a very rich universe inhabited by certainly fun looking characters.
"My aesthetic should be a remix of everything I find. Every time I start a project, I like to add my own little twist to something, just to make it unique and to give a fresh experience (like combining tribal and subculture)", he casually mentioned in an interview with Ballpitmag.

In 2021, Mulo co-founded the NFXT collective where him and a bunch of his fellow creatives learned about NFTs (non-fungible tokens), using various platforms such as Teia, KnownOrigin and Foundation to showcase and sell his glorious artworks. He was one of the local creators who made clear impact on the Web3 frontier, which then inspired waves of other creatives to endeavour into the scene. His genesis(first) NFT of Tezos titled 'Amako' on the now-defunct marketplace Hic et Nunc (replaced by Teia) made a 500 xtz sale and then again, his genesis drop on Foundation titled 'Cyberchan' was sold at 5.1591 ETH.

With the NFXT collective, Mulo did a lot to not only inspire, but also directly having a hand at onboarding other creatives into the Web3 space. Notably, he brought in the graffitti artist communities during a period where their income is severely impacted by the COVID lockdowns. While he views NFT as a side gig, it has had a significant impact on his life and career, particularly during the pandemic lockdown period. Mulo thinks positively about the future of NFT and is excited to continue his journey in this space.
His artwork is uniquely set apart from others because he doesn't agonize about what others may want or expect of his artistry; he simply draws and creates what he feels inspired to create. This approach has led to a diverse portfolio of work, including commissions and collaborations with various artists and organizations around the world. His list of clients has included some notable brands and companies like AirAsia & Jei Tseng Studio, among others.
Throughout his career, Mulo has been thoroughly recognized for his talent, winning the Malaysia New Talent Artist (Illustration) award in 2009 and receiving nominations in the Nandos Art Initiative (Digital Art) competition in 2014 and 2015. He has also participated in numerous exhibitions and residencies, including the Johor Youth Hub Public Art Project, the Nowhere Art Studio in Phnom Penh, and the Infinity 8 Nusajaya. Mulo is also a member of several collectives, including Graphcore, Rumah Ikan Kolektif, Eightyfourcube, and NFXT.
